Generally, queen bees are cultivated in spring and autumn, because the external nectar source is abundant and the climate is suitable in these two seasons, and the quality of queen bee cultivation and the success rate of mating are also high.

Queen selection

   According to the local nectar source and climatic conditions, the seed king can purchase a suitable seed king from the local bee farm unit, or select a suitable bee colony from the bee farm as the queen breeding colony. The bee colony with excellent performance in the bee farm is used as the basic colony for breeding queen bees.In the process of production and breeding of queen bee, the colony with strong collection ability, cold resistance, heat resistance and disease resistance is selected as the seed colony to achieve the goal of cultivating high-quality queen bee.

Drone Breeding

   The quantity and quality of male peaks directly affect the quality of mating with the queen bee, so bee colonies with strong fecundity, high enthusiasm for collection, and weak separation of bees should be selected to cultivate male bees. Larvae selection

   The smaller the larvae used in artificial queen rearing, the better. The main reason is that the smaller the larvae are, the longer they will be nurtured by worker bees, and the healthier they will be. In this way, the quality of the queen bee will be better. Generally, the larvae used by beekeepers are 1 to 3 day old larvae. Generally speaking, one day old larvae are the best choice, but most beekeepers use three day old larvae.

   Why is this? The worker bees start to secrete royal jelly for the larvae, which is a prerequisite for us to migrate. However, there is not much royal jelly in the nest during the one day old larvae, so the possibility of successful migration is not high. Therefore, three day old larvae are widely used.

Migration method

   First, select the right age larvae, then gently insert them from the back of the larvae with a migration needle, then gently pick them out, and then put the larvae into the prepared cell cup. If you fail to remove this worm at one time, do not remove this one, just move another worm. If you fail to remove this worm at one time, you will have already injured it.

Swarm management

   After adding the queen rearing box of the migratory insects to the queen rearing group, they will be rewarded and fed continuously in the evening. Check whether the larvae are accepted the next day. For the larvae that have been accepted, the royal platform is raised, the royal jelly in the royal platform is increased, and the larvae float on the royal jelly; 

   If they are not accepted, their king's platform will be damaged and there will be no larvae in it. If no king group is used to breed a king, then the king raising box is transferred to the stepbox of the king raising group, and the king raising group without king is merged with the original group.
